In a dual against No. 20 Missouri, Leidigh set a new KU pool record in the 100 Fly (55.00), beating the old record (55.56) of 16 years. She also recorded wins in the 200 Fly (2:01.97), 100 Free (51.96) and was a member of the winning 400 Free Relay team (3:29.97). Leidigh led Kansas to its first dual meet victory vs. Missouri in six years, 175-125.
Sergiy Fesenko, Indiana University
Kiev, Ukraine
Fesenko collected his third consecutive distance crown of the season with the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 1,000 Free (9:09.14). Fesenko continued his recent run of success by touching out Minnesota's Adam Mitchell for the win in 200 Fly (1:49.99). Fesenko remained undefeated in the distance events this season with his third title of the meet, the 500 Free (4:28.00). Despite Fesenko efforts, the Hoosiers lost to the Gophers 137-163
Sarah Watson, Ouachita Baptist University
Ft. Worth, Texas
In a dual meet against arch-rival Henderson State the OBU women won by a score of 149-81. Watson won the 400 IM with an NCAA ‘B’ qualifying time (4:37.21). Watson then won the 100 Backstroke with an NCAA ‘A’ Qualifying time (57.38). Leading off the 200 Free Relay, Watson added another NCAA ‘B’ Qualifying time (1:38.95, 24.31) and would have won the event had the relay not have been swum exhibition. Watson 50 Free and 100 Back were also OBU team records.
Chris Achey, Ouachita Baptist University
Americus, Georgia
In a duel meet against arch-rival Henderson State the OBU men were edged 120-113. Achey started of the meet leading off the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:34.64, split 24.26), He then defeated NCAA Division II national champion Emrie Celik in the 100 Back with an NCAA ‘A’ qualifying time (50.53). Achey then ended the meet on the winning 200 Free Relay (1:24.85,split 20.79).
Kelly Kono, Washington University (St. Louis)
La Grange, Illinois
Kono was a key component for the Bears win over DePauw University. 136-100. Kono’s first of the three wins came in the 1000 Free (10:46.38). Near the end of the meet, Kono continued performing by winning the 500 Free (5:16.71) and then ended by leading off the winning 400 Free Relay (3:46.90, split 56.39)
Koji Takahashi, Olivet College
Etobicoke, Ontario
Takahashi was the only triple winner at the dual in the pool with MIAA Champions, Hope College. Takahashi swam the fastest Fly leg of the 200 Medley Relay (1:40.13, split 23.91, pool record). Individually, Takahashi won the 200 Free (1:50.14) and the 100 Fly (53.66). It easy to say that Takahashi led the Comets to its first ever win against the Flying Dutchman 133-110.
