November 17th, 2005

The New York University men and women occupy the first and third spots respectively in the season’s first Division III Power Ranking of the 2005-06 season. The Denison women, with a win over Kenyon already this season take the top spot for the women. The St. Olaf men, after getting touched out on the last relay by Gustavus [no entry] last weekend sit second behind NYU while Denison, The College of New Jersey, and UW-Stevens Point round out the top five. For the women, UWSP, Carleton, and Carnegie Mellon take the top spots.

The Power Rankings are a relative indication of a team's strength in dual meets and based upon entries submitted by each team’s respective coaching staff. At press, CollegeSwimming.com had received notice from Emory, Johns Hopkins and Kenyon College that their entries would be forthcoming. These scores will be incorporated into the standings when received and will shake up the standings.

Completing the top fifteen for the women are St. Olaf, Franklin & Marshall, SUNY-Geneseo, DePauw, Vassar, Whitworth, Carthage, Case Western, Marymount and Oberlin. On the men’s side Carnegie Mellon, Carthage, Geneseo, Washington & Lee, Grove City, Chicago, Case Western, Luther, Whitworth, DePauw and heated rival Wabash complete the top fifteen. Future polling dates are December 20th (post-invite), February 6th (pre-conference) and March 6 (post-conference). New teams may submit entries between deadline dates.
