.: Rosenbluth, Hunter, Korn, Sterback Collect MAAC Weekly Awards

EDISON, NJ , November 16th, 2005

Rider University’s Josh Rosenbluth and Fairfield University’s Brittany Hunter have been named the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Rider’s Dylan Korn earned the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week award, while Loyola College’s Megan Sterback has been named the MAAC Women’s Diver of the Week.

Rosenbluth, a freshman at Rider, earned this honor for the second consecutive week after claiming the top spot in two individual events against the University of Pennsylvania and Lehigh University. He finished first in both the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 1:55.99, and the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:53.80.

Hunter, a junior at Fairfield, posted wins in three individual events to help the Stags defeat Niagara University, 144-99. She won the 800-yard freestyle in a time of 9:29.98, and then picked up a win in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:31.73. Hunter finished the meet with a win in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:29.92. She went on to win the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.70) and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:47.75 in Fairfield’s meet at Marist.

Korn, a sophomore at Rider, won the one-meter dive with a score of 253.00 in a dual meet with the University of Pennsylvania and Lehigh University. He also finished in first place in the three-meter event with a score of 273.75.

Sterback, a junior at Loyola, broke an 18-year-old school record in the three-meter diving event and nearly broke the school’s one-meter diving record in the Thomas Murphy Invitational this past weekend. Her first-place score of 418.50 in the three-meter diving event shattered the previous mark of 395.00, which was set during the 1987 season. Sterback also earned a victory in the one-meter diving event by scoring 245.70 points, which ranks second on Loyola’s all-time list.
