Emily Silver won two individual events as the fifth-ranked California women's swimming team (5-0) routed visiting Pacific, 155-99, in the Golden Bears' first home dual meet of the season on Friday afternoon at Spieker Aquatics Complex. Cal won 11 out of 14 events against the Tigers.

Silver, a sophomore, won the 200-yard freestyle in an NCAA B standard qualifying time of 1:49.84 and later won the 100 free in a provisional qualifying time of 50.60. Junior teammate Erin Reilly swam a provisional qualifying time of 1:49.99 as the runner-up to Silver in the 200 free. Other Cal winners included freshman Jessica Hardy in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.11, NCAA B), freshman Lauren Rogers in the 200 backstroke (2:01.34, NCAA B), sophomore Rachel Ridgeway in the 200 butterfly (2:01.92), junior Sherry Tsai in the 50 free (23.89), sophomore Genevieve Patterson in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.80), sophomore Leann Toomey in the 100 fly (56.04), the Cal B team of Tsai, Patterson, Ridgeway and Andrews in the 400-medley relay (3:46.00) and the Cal A quartet of Emily Silver, Andrews, Reilly and Hardy in the 200-free relay (1:34.43).

In the 200 individual medley, winner Ja-Neil Bragg of Pacific (2:02.35) and Cal’s Hardy (2:02.42) both swam provisional qualifying times.

"Jessica Hardy did a nice job today," Cal assistant coach Whitney Hite said. "She continues to be as good as or better than advertised. Overall we're getting better, though we have a ways to go. It's nice to see improvement. It's good to have Sherry Tsai back from the East Asian Games. She was gone for a week and a half and just got back this week. She did a nice job leading off the 400 medley relay and had a nice 50 free as well."

Besides Bragg, only Laura McDonald won events for Pacific. McDonald won both the 500 (4:56.10) and the 1000 (9:58.37) frees.

There was no diving at today's competition.

Cal next hosts Oregon State at 1 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
