.: Denver's Feight, Christianson Earn Sun Belt Performer Weekly Awards

DENVER , November 10th, 2005

Diver Aaron Feight and swimmer Marcus Christianson were named Sun Belt Conference Performers of the Week; it was announced by league officials today. It is the third honor of the season for Feight and is the first for Christianson.

Feight earned the honor for his dual meet performances against Utah and Wyoming last weekend. Feight came in second place on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards with scores of 326.60 and 334.50, respectively, behind Utah senior Sterling Richard. In competition against Wyoming, Feight took top-honors on both boards. He scored 337.35 points on the 1-meter and 359.00 on the 3-meter to sweep the diving events for the second time this season.

Christianson continues to make splashes for the Pioneers in the breaststroke events this season. He took top honors in the 100 and 200-breast against Utah with times of 57.97 and 2:09.51, outdistancing his top competitors by nearly two seconds in each event. Christianson was also a member of the 200 and 400-medley relays that also took top honors. In the 200-breast against Wyoming, he swam the tightest race of the afternoon with Alex Larkin, who out-touched him by nine tenths of a second for the top honor. Christianson also swam the third leg of the 200-medley relay in which the Pioneers set a new pool record.
