Four athletes on the LSU swimming and diving team were dismissed from the team last month after they posted negative comments about the team and coaches on the Web site thefacebook.com. The Athletic Department notified junior Matt Coenen and freshman Eddie Kenney in writing April 5 that their scholarships would not be renewed for the fall. Two other non-scholarship athletes also left the team because of postings they made on the site. Freshman Jeffrey Vivo said he was not kicked off the team and left on his own as a result of the incident. Freshman Joe Veron is currently on probation from the team because of the incident and may return, said his father, John.

Kenney said that before the meeting Schmitt addressed the men's team and said, "You're all pieces of ..."
