Jennalee Wallman, a 22-year-old sophomore at Cabrillo College, will compete in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races at the California Community College State Swimming Championships that run from today through Saturday. For Wallman, it’s been a season of both triumph and pain. She won the Coast Conference title in the 50 free, but did it in a good deal of discomfort. She’ll have surgery on her left shoulder this summer. The story really begins, though, when Wallman was a freshman at Santa Rosa Junior College in 2002.
