Everybody talks about Indian River, but on the other side of the country, there's another set of championships - the California Community College Championships. And unlike the East Coast where IRCC has dominated for decades, there's a new king on the West Coast.

The Ventura College men made history by breaking up the tri-opoly that had dominated the sport for a quarter century. Santa Monica was last school from outside the trio of Golden West, Diablo Valley and Orange Coast to win the meet in 1987.
