.: O'Fallon Hired at North Central
Naperville, IL , July 29th, 2005
“This is an amazing opportunity in an ideal environment,” O’Fallon said. “I am excited to lead a program with as much tradition and potential as North Central. I look forward to a very fun and successful season, while working with, and learning from, great people in the athletic department.”
O’Fallon graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with a degree in journalism. At Illinois, she won four-varsity swimming letters, while being voted team captain twice and earning the team Spirit (2002) and MVP (2003) Awards. A 1999 graduate of Naperville North High School, O’Fallon was a four-year all-state selection, and IHSA state champion and record holder. As a member of the Naperville YMCA swim team, she was a YMCA and Junior National finalist and U.S. Open qualifier.
During the 2004-05 season O'Fallon served as an assistant coach for the Cardinal swimmers. For the past three years, she has been an assistant coach with the Naperville Riptide Swim Team and also has seven years coaching experience in the Naperville Park District, including two as a head coach.
“We’re going to try new things this year with an emphasis on a lot of fun and fast swimming,” she said. “I can’t wait for the season to start.”
O’Fallon has been working at the College since 2004 as the Graduate Assistant Sports Information Director. She lives in Naperville.
O'Fallon takes over for Maureen Szweda. Szweda earned a national title for the school. Dennis Ryan, the longtime Cardinal coach, continues to make progress following a stroke in 2002.
