.: Navy Men, Harvard Women, Top Mid-Major Poll

A new pair of teams top the latest Division I Mid-Major Poll. The men from Navy and Harvard women top the poll which includes all meets following the mid-season invitationals. The Missouri State men, and Denver women, ranked first in the previous polls fell to 4th and 6th respectively. Nearly eighty programs participated in the latest poll. Complete Ranking

The Power Rankings are a relative indication of a team's strength in dual meets. Rankings for Division II and III will be released November 22nd. The mid-major support institutions that do not benefit from large football and basketball television agreements and are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams.

Top Ten
The Southern Illinois men made the biggest jump, up from 21st to second. Princeton, Missouri State, Oakland, Eastern Michigan, Cornell, Miami, and UNC-Wilmington round out the top ten.

For the women, Toledo dropped from second to tenth. Miami, Eastern Michigan, UMBC, Missouri State, Denver, Akron, Western Kentucky, and Oakland fill in the top ten.

Top Twenty-Five Women
Beyond the top-ten are the women of Bowling-Green, Wilmington, Richmond, Southern Illinois, UW-Milwaukee, New Hampshire, UC-Irvine, Illinois State, St. Louis, William & Mary, Navy, Binghampton, Colgate, Wright State and Delaware.

Top Twenty-Five Men
On the men's side, Denver, UW-Milwaukee, LaSalle, UMASS, St. Bonaventure, Army, Maryland-Baltimore County, James Madison, Wright State, Irvine, Drexel, Pacific, Bucknell, Binghampton and William & Mary rounded out the top twenty-five.

A dozen additional men's and seventeen additional women's programs also earned consideration for the poll. Men's teams included: St. Louis, Davidson, Stony Brook, Rider, Duquesne, Xavier, George Washington, Colgate Evansville, Loyola, Valparaiso, and New Hampshire. On the women's side Bonaventure, Pacific, Bucknell, Davidson, Massachusetts, George Washington, Army, North Dexas, Duquesne, LaSalle, Central Connecticut, Xavier, Drexel, Gardner-Webb, Rider, Evansville and Valparaiso all earned consideration.

February 6th (pre-conference) and March 6 (post-conference). New teams may submit entries between deadline dates. Eligible institutions come from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic 10, Big West, Colonial Athletic Association, EISL, Horizon League, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-America, Mid-Continent, Missouri Valley, North Eastern, Patriot, and Sun Belt. Additional schools participate following certification that their school awards fewer than half of the allowable scholarships permitted by the NCAA.
