.: CollegeSwimming.com Introduces Mid-Major All-American Team

CollegeSwimming.com announced today the 2005 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Mid-Major All-American Team.  This is the inagural year of the program and continues CollegeSwimming.com’s support of Mid-Major programs.  The student-athletes were selected on the basis of their qualifying for the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.  Members of the 2006 team are:

The Mid-Major designation is used to direct attention to teams that do not benefit from membership in one of the conferences with large television contracts for football or basketball.  Institutions eligible for the CollegeSwimming.com poll are those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS conference, Mountain West Conference, or Western Athletic Conference; or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
