.: Counsilman-Hunsaker Underwrite Swimmer-of-the-Week

With Intercollegiate competitions set to begin in coming weeks, CollegeSwimming is excited to announce that Counsilman-Hunsaker and Associates of St. Louis, MO has come on board to underwrite the National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week (NCSW) program.

Beginning October 18th the NCSW program will recognizes the best performances from swimmers in Divisions I-II and III. Swimmers can be nominated by their respective coaches or sports information directors and will be selected by a panel of ten coaches.

Underwriting this effort is Counsilman-Hunsaker & Associates, a multi-service engineering, planning, and design firm that specializes in aquatic facilities.

"We're pleased to be on board with this program," commented CH engineer and former World-Record-Holder Steve Crocker, "We've been such a part of college swimming since our founding by Doc Counsilman and Joe Hunsaker that this seemed like a natural fit for us to help support the sport."

Counsilman-Hunsaker has indeed made an impact on college swimming, having designed some of the fastest collegiate facilities in the nation including those found at IUPUI, Miami University, Stanford, , the University of Georgia and Texas A&M. They are currently working on new facilities at Ohio State, the University of Tennessee, University of Missouri, University of Cincinnati, and Kenyon College.

NCSW nominations should be e-mailed to program director, Jade Sobek on Monday's by Noon Central Time. Weekly winners will be announced by 5:00 pm on Tuesdays, with award recipients and their respective schools receiving a certificate. Conferences interested in having their own conference award-winners automatically submitted for consideration should contact Jade Sobek at 262-551-5933.
