"I'm very pleased, the team swam very well tonight," said head coach John O'Neill.
The team of junior Paul Schmidt, sophomore Cameron Rice, freshman Jacob Mentele and senior Steve Miller won the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:33:33. The foursome of junior David Richards, senior Sebastian Rodriguez, freshman Tom Maddox and freshman Matt Schiller finished third in the event (3:39.42).
Sophomore Efri Ruthenberg won the 200 IM (1:58.48) and the 100 freestyle (47.10). Freshman John Hutchison was second in the 200 IM (2:01.98) while freshman Daniel Davison finished third (2:05.40). Senior Ricky Babbitt took third in the 100 freestyle (47.90).
The team of sophomore Sarah Turner, freshman Sylvia Beck, sophomore Julia Carier and sophomore Sarah Gerstein placed third in the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:13.59.
Cora Freeman picked up another win in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 2:10.14. Turner was second in the event, finishing with a time of 2:18.43.
Beck continued the rookie's success by winning the 200 IM in 2:15.69.
Sophomore Amanda Otto registered a pair of wins. She was victorious in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.82 before winning the 100 freestyle in 55.25. Gerstein won the 50 freestyle in 25.71 while recording a second place showing in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.91. Freshman Caroline O'Sullivan took third in the 50 free, touching the wall in 25.99 while sophomore Erin Stevens place third in the 200 free in a time of 2:02.92
Sophomore Zach Disbrow claimed victory in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:46.38. Junior Trey Williams was third in the event (1:47.94).
Junior Nick Beck captured the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:55.94. Seleskie placed second (4:55.97) and Foster was third (4:58.93).
Head coach John O'Neill was pleased with his team's performance in their first outing of the season.
"We saw some great racing today and everyone did a nice a job," said O'Neill.
The Black Knights are next in action on Saturday, October 30, when they open their 2004-05 Patriot League campaign by hosting Colgate at Crandall Pool at 1:00 p.m.
