The Aggies won 10 of 16 events over the Tigers, including both the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays. A&M used its talent in the sprint freestyle events to carry themselves to the win as well.
Junior Matt Neal (Plano, Texas) led the way for the Aggies on Saturday by winning a pair of races. Neal led a 1-2-3 A&M sweep in the 200 freestyle by clocking a time of 1:43.40. Neal then captured a tight 200 backstroke race over the Tigers’ Chris Lukas 1:52.14 to 1:52.27.
All-Americans Ross Collins (McKinney, Texas) and Andrew Sullivant (Houston) earned wins in each of the sprint freestyle events. Collins won the 50-yard free in 21.19 while Sullivant, who was second in the 200 free, won the 100-yard race in 45.06.
Senior co-captain Dan Blanchard (Tulsa, Okla.) gave the Aggies a sweep in the backstroke events by capturing first in the 100 back in 51.37.
Other Aggies to claim wins against the Tigers were Alex Dawson (Indianapolis), 200 individual medley (1:55.41); Alfredo Jacobo (Leon, Gto., Mexico), 100 breast, 57.19; and Scott Newmann (Duncanville, Texas), 100 fly, 50.65.
With the win, A&M runs its record to 4-0 all-time against Missouri. The Aggies will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 29 when they host nationally-ranked Indiana in their home opener at the Student Rec Center Natatorium at 3 p.m.
