Meet Results

The University of Nevada Swimming and Diving team opened the 2004-05 season with an easy 160-132 win over UC Davis Saturday afternoon at Lombardi Pool in Reno. The Pack won the first 11 events of the meet and 12 of the 16 to cruise to the easy win. Nevada exhibitioned their swimmers and divers in the last three events of the day.

Four Nevada swimmers were double winners in the meet: Maren Gunsalus(1000-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly), Alyssa Chin(100 and 200-yard freestyle), Li Bei(100 and 200-yard breaststroke), and Sarabeth Metzger(200-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke). Other individual winners included Charlene Rigdon in the 100-yard backstroke, and Nonie WainWright in the 50-yard freestyle. Diver Devon Owen captured the 3-meter event with a score of 292.72.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Metzger, Bei, Brandy Collins and Rigdon got the meet started off winning the event in a time of 1:48.69.

Nevada takes a break before returning to action on Oct. 22-23 when they travel to Las Cruces, N.M. to compete in the New Mexico State Fall Classic.
