The University of Hawai`i men and women's swimming and diving squads stayed hot going undefeated in Day 2 of the Big West Shootout held at the Anteater Aquatics Complex.

The Rainbow Warriors defeated Washington (76-27), UC Irvine (80-24), and UC Santa Barbara (89-14) running its dual meet record to a perfect 6-0. The Rainbow Wahine knocked off Washington (79-32), UC Santa Barbara (96-15), UC Irvine (82-31), and San Diego (97-15) pushing their dual meet record to 7-1.

Today saw two UH records broken -- the women's 100 Free and the men's 200 Back. Melanie Schlanger, a freshman from Australia, posted a time of 49.49 seconds in the 10 Free, breaking Sara Watchorn's mark of 49.93 seconds set in 2001. Also, newcomer Thomas Winkler, a junior from Germany, smashed the UH 200 Back mark with a time of one minute and 45.17 seconds. The old mark of 1:45.67 was set by Daniel Blackborrow in 2003.

The team returns home tonight and hosts Pacific Nov. 19 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex at 6 p.m.

*note*The top two men's teams from each pool and the top two women's teams from pool A and top three women's teams from pool B will compete in the championship pool on Saturday.
