Swimmers from Florida, Georgia, University of California-San Diego, Truman
State, Hope and Washington University earned CollegeSwimming.com National
Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week (NCSW) honors for their performances November
12-14, 2004. The six were selected by a panel of collegiate coaches and
nominated by coaches, sports information directors, conference representatives
and CollegeSwimming.com staffers. The National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week
Awards are underwritten by Counsilman-Hunsaker & Associates, a multi-service
engineering, planning, and design firm that specializes in aquatic facilities.

Ryan Lochte, Florida Daytona Beach, Florida Lochte led the fourth-ranked Gators over #5 Texas (126-103) and South Carolina (144-87). Lochte got the Gators rolling leading off the winning 400 medley relay (46.72). Lochte also won the 200 IM (1:48.07) and the 500 free (4:22.62) for his individual events. Then Lochte finished with leading off the winning 400 free relay (44.61). |

Kara Lynn Joyce, Georgia Ann Arbor, MI Joyce showed why Georgia is No. 1 by leading the Bulldogs to a 138-105 win over National Champion Auburn. Joyce touched first in the 100 (48.99) and 200 free (1:46.55). Joyce also swam on 400 free relay with the fastest split of the meet (49.31). |

Kurt Boehm, UC-San Diego Erlangew, Germany Boehm won the 200 free (1:40.94) and 200 fly (1:51.06) with NCAA Automatic Qualifying times. Boehm also swam the fly leg of the winning medley relay (48.94), thus accounting for half of UCSD’s event wins as the Titans topped defending Division II champion CSU-Bakersfield 130-107 |

Lija Kaleps-Clark, Truman State Westerville, OH Despite losing to Big 12 Iowa 165-95, Kaleps-Clark becomes the second consecutive Swimmer of the Week for the Bulldogs. Kaleps-Clark put up superb times in the 100 (58.94), and 200 (2:04.10) backstroke and the 200 IM (2:06.84). Kaleps-Clark finished second to the Division I Hawkeyes, and also led off the 400 Medley Relay (59.79). |

Kurtis Blohm, Hope College Wilmington, OH The junior was pivotal in the Flying Dutch's 144-136 win over Carthage. In a meet where the lead changed hands six times, Blohm led off the winning 200 medley relay (24.78), then proceeded to win the 200 freestyle (1:45.65) and 200 backstroke (1:55.31). He then gave Hope the lead in the winning and decisive 200 free relay (21.56 split). Blohm is undefeated this season. |

Meredith Nordbrock, Washington University Marietta, Georgia Nordbrock led top-ranked Washington to victory in the nine-team University of Chicago Maroon Invitational. Nordbrock led off the winning 400 medley relay (1:00.84) then won the 100 (1:00.56) and 200 (2:11.01) back. Nordbrok also won the 100 fly (1:00.38) and anchored the winning 400 free relay (55.28). |
