The New York University men`s swimming & diving team, currently ranked #2 in the national in the most recent collegeswimming.com Division III poll, defeated Rowan University 136-107 on Saturday, November 13, in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Matt Cull won two individual swimming events for NYU (5-0). He won both the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.83) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.73). Brad Thornton also won two events for the Violets. He captured the 50-yard freestyle (22.43) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.05).

Also victorious for the Violets was the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Thornton, John Keyes, Andrew Guyton, and Daniel Curiale. The foursome won the event with a time of 3:13.51.

"This is the first time we`ve ever defeated Rowan," said head coach Bob Sorenson. "We`d never been able to beat them before, although we have had some very close meets over the past few years."

The 400-yard medley relay team was also victorious with a time of 3:37.5. That foursome included Andrew Guyton, Thomas Eason, Elliott Bishow, and Daniel Curiale.
