Sophomore Noelle Bassi (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) set Harvard's school record in the 200-yard butterfly in her first swim as a member of the Crimson, pacing Harvard to a 205-92 win against Columbia Sunday at Blodgett Pool.

Bassi, the 2004 United States champion in the 200-meter butterfly, coasted to more than a five-second win Sunday in the short course as she touched the wall in 2:00.05. That time bettered the old school record of 2:01.98, set by Pia Chock at the 2001 Ivy League Championships.

Bassi also took first place in the 500-yard freestyle for the Crimson, leading a 1-2-3 Harvard finish in that event.

Bassi was one of three Harvard swimmers won two individual events each Sunday. The Crimson took the first-place points in 13 of the 15 events in which it was entered to remain unbeaten on the young season.

Freshman Lindsay Hart (Walnut Creek, Calif.) was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle and the 200 backstroke, and freshman Jaclyn Pangilinan (Clifton, N.J.), who competed in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, took first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.

Junior Kim Ono (Honolulu, Hawaii) won the 100 backstroke, senior Molly Ward (Fort Worth, Texas) took the 50 freestyle, junior Erin Mulkey (San Antonio, Texas) won the 100 free, senior Molly Brethauer (Bedford, N.H.) was first in the 100 butterfly, and sophomore Kara O'Reilly (Melville, N.Y.) claimed the 200 individual medley to round out Harvard's individual winners in the swimming events.
