Overall, Indiana claimed nine event titles, while Southern Illinois picked up four and Purdue win three.
"We came into the meet with very heavy training," Head Coach Ray Looze said. "We came out today with a lack of intensity and our spirit was not great. That being said, we showed that we are capable of swimming faster when training permits it. We did some good things after we talked about our intensity in the middle of the meet. We just need to learn to bring a 100 percent, because if you ease up at this level - someone will beat you. We have some execution mistakes we need to work hard on to overcome."
"We accomplished our goal today of beating Southern Illinois and Iowa, and SIU swam incredibly well," said head coach Dan Ross. "We also received some great individual performances, especially from Louis (Paul) in the 100 free and Giordan (Pogioli) in the 200 breast."
"IU was as good as I expected them to be, and they're probably one of the top three clubs in the Big Ten," said Ross. "I think our dual meet will be somewhat closer, but they have very few holes to fill and are worthy of their national ranking."
