.: Auburn Invite - Final Results

Auburn, AL , December 2nd, 2004

Meet Results

The Auburn men's and women's swimming teams combined to clock 10 NCAA provisional times as the Tigers played host to the opening night of the Auburn Tiger Invitational. Freshman Emily Kukors led the women with two individual NCAA times while Ryan Wochomurka and BJ Jones each clocked one individual and was a part of a NCAA-qualifying relay for the men.

"I thought it was a good start to the weekend and we should get better every session. We are still looking for some of our younger guys and gals to step up and compete," AU Coach David Marsh said. "You can certainly see without Kirsty (Coventry) and Margaret (Hoelzer) swimming in the meet tonight that there is a great need for everyone to step up their level. For example, Emily Kukors and Erin Volcan stepped up nicely. On the men's side, BJ Jones impressed me with his leadership and competitive nature in the relay and dominating the 500 (free)."

Kukors' NCAA times came in the 500 and 50 freestyles. In the 500, she went 4:47.49 to lead the pack while her 50 free time of 23.55 was good enough to place third.

Adrienne Binder joined Kukors in making the NCAA provisional time in the 500 with a 4:49.21 to place second while Jana Kolukanova was a place ahead of Kukors in the 50 with a time of 23.25.

Wochomurka was the first to stop the clock in the men's 50 with a 20.25 while Jones' individual NCAA time of 4:22.40 in the 500 was well ahead of the competition. Shai Livnat joined Jones in the 500 with a 4:27.29 to place third.

Wochomurka and Jones then teamed up with Doug Van Wie and Sean Osborne to go 3:17.77 to close out the meet in the men's 400 medley relay with Jones swimming the final leg with a split of 44.42.

Erin Volcan (2:03.91) and Leslie Lunsmann (2:04.23) were the top two collegiate finishers in the women's 200 IM with NCAA provisional times.
