Assistants Hired at Chicago, Grinnell, Carthage

A trio of Division III programs announced additions to their staff this week. Grinnell College, Carthage College, and the University of Chicago all unveiled new coaches.

At Chicago, Athletics Tom Weingartner announced that Jason Weber has been appointed as assistant men's swimming coach and assistant aquatics director. Weber, a four-year member of the Brown University team, most recently served as a sport partnership intern for the United States Olympic Committee and was previously an assistant age group coach for Conejo Simi Aquatics. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco.

At Grinnell, Erin Hurley brought on Alex Kuhn her assistant coach for the 2004-05 season. Kuhn, a Washington, Pa., native graduated Cum Laude in business management with a minor in psychology from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. At Washington, he was named Academic All-Conference three times and an all-conference selection in the 400 IM. Kuhn currently holds top five times in seven different events at Washington.

Finally, Carthage College brought on a pair of new staffers. Jade Sobek was hired as a graduate assistant for women's and men's swimming. Sobek was a 14-time All-American at Denison University. Carthage also hired Luke Payette as head women's water polo coach. Payette has been head coach at Neuqua Valley HS, Highland Park HS, and a coach of the US Midwest Zone Team
