.: Commons Added As Toledo Assistant

Toledo, OH , August 11th, 2004

University of Toledo head swimming and diving coach Lars Jorgensen annouced today the hiring of assistant coach Mandy Commons. Commons will join Jorgensen as he takes the reigns in his first year with the Rockets.

"I'm really excited to bring Mandy's experience and talent to the program," Jorgensen said. "She is a wonderful athlete, and I think with her on the coaching staff we can better work towards having a successful season."

A former Cincinnatti Marlin, Commons graduated from Clemson University in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in economics. From 2003-2004 she worked as a swim coach for the Sycamore Flying Fish in Cincinnati, OH. She also worked in Fort Lauderdale, FL for a summer in 2001 as a camp couselor/coach at Pine Crest School.

Commons' college highlights include being named All- Atlantic Coast Conference in years 2001, 2002 and 2003, an NCAA Academic All-American in 2000 and 2001, and an NCAA Strength and Conditioning All-American in 2000. She participated in the NCAA Championship Meet in all four years of her college career.
